You obviously do not understand my point. This isn't some kind of childish contest where you get a pass if the other person is being a jerk. Black people--all people--are capable of racism, and my guess all people are to some degree. I never said nor implied anything different. I'm talking about my own experience.

Good detail there Anon2. But even if that were a true story it would be missing the point. There are very many white people who have been victim of crime committed by blacks. I'm one of them. My point is that experience usually touches off an unjustified racist reaction against all black people. More generally, just growing up in a media environment which constantly portrays blacks as criminal does the same thing.

My point is to admit the reality of that experience and push past it. How do we short-circuit our natural tendencies? Stay tuned for part 2.

The young black men from the Central Park Jogger case were released from prison when their convictions were vacated. Due to DNA discrepancies and the problematic way the confessions were obtained, a judge in the case overturned the convictions in the early 2000s.

Another young man, who was not black and had no connection to the previously convicted, admitted to the crime. DNA evidence also confirmed his connection to the crime.
